Built in 2014, the 406-meter long Highline179—the world's second longest suspension bridge for pedestrians—connects Ehrenberg Castle ruins with Fort Claudia, spanning a strategically important pass, now a highway. (In 2017, the 494-meter (1,620-foot) Charles Kuonen Bridge became the world's longest hanging bridge for pedestrians, suspended above Grabengufer ravine, near Randa in Switzerland.) Ehrenberg Castle, built in 1290, is in Reutte, state of Tyrol, Austria, Europe. The inclined elevator I "Ehrenberg Liner" climbs 110m to the free Hornwerk exhibition called "Attack and Defense", the Ehrenberg Castle ruins and the Highline179. The inclined elevator II "Top Liner" (opened March 2023) reaches the highest point, the baroque Schlosskopf Fortress.
