At Gjendesheim boat dock, the mountain ridges of Veslefjell and Besseggen reflect in Lake Gjende in Jotunheimen National Park, Norway. Besseggen is one of the most popular hikes in Norway. Jotunheimen, or the Home of the Giants, is the highest section of the Scandinavian Mountains. Ride a boat from Gjendesheim to Memurubu, then hike along the trail to narrow Besseggen at the halfway point. Then ascend to the trail's highest point, Veslfjellet (1743 meters), and walk steeply down to Gjendesheim, in about 8 to 10 hours total.
