Purple coral. Ocean Safari snorkeling—just 25 minutes ride to Great Barrier Reef from Cape Tribulation, Queensland, Australia

Purple coral. Ocean Safari offers the quickest commute to the Great Barrier Reef—25 minutes. In April 2023, we enjoyed the morning snorkeling tour from Cape Tribulation, in Queensland, Australia. By the end of the pandemic years 2020-2022, reef life temporarily bounced back due to pause in human fishing. The Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef system, is honored on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Due to climate change and coral bleaching, the reef lost half of its coral cover between 1995 and 2017.
