A Bengal eagle owl male named Elmo is shown at the Owl Sanctuary hands-on experience, at the preserved 1869 Haverthwaite railway station on Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, in Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England, United Kingdom, Europe. The Bengal eagle-owl (Bubo bengalensis) is a large horned owl with large head tufts, native to the Indian Subcontinent. They are splashed with brown and grey, and have a white throat patch with small black stripes. Photographed on day 1 of 14 of our England Coast to Coast hiking tour with Wilderness Travel.
