Before dividing in two at its tongue, the glacier is 6 kilometers wide and over 30 meters high. Grey Glacier has receded 4 km and lost 17 square kilometers from the mid 1900s through 2010. Torres del Paine National Park is listed as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
