Sgraffito (or scraffito, plural: sgraffiti) is a technique of wall decor where layers of plaster tinted in contrasting colors are applied to a moistened surface. In Switzerland, the valley of Engadine translates as the “garden of the En (or Inn) River” (Engadin in German, Engiadina in Romansh, Engadina in Italian), in the Alps, Europe.
