Yellow lichen splotches large boulders on the summit. Driving directions: Go from Granite Falls on Mountain Loop Highway to Verlot Visitor Center, drive 1 mile east and turn right on Mount Pilchuck Road (#20) and drive 7 miles to the road end and trailhead.
