Hikers explore a cliff near the Yahi Trail, along Big Chico Creek Canyon, in Upper Bidwell Park, Chico, Butte Country, California, USA. Land donation by Annie Bidwell (widow of Chico's founder, John Bidwell) began the park in 1905. Today Bidwell Park is the third largest municipal park in California, stretching nearly 11 miles (18 km) along Big Chico Creek; Upper Park is in the foothills of the southernmost Cascades.
