The Cook pine (Araucaria columnaris, a species of conifer in the family Araucariaceae) is also known as the Coral reef araucaria, New Caledonia pine, or columnar araucaria. The tree is endemic to New Caledonia in the Melanesia region of the southwestern Pacific Ocean, first classified by botanists of Captain James Cook's second voyage to circumnavigate the globe.
