Appenzell's Roman Catholic St. Maurice (or Mauritius) parish church was built 1560–84 at Adlerplatz, the heart of Appenzell village, in Switzerland, Europe. Most of the notable buildings in Appenzell were built in the 1500s. Appenzell Innerrhoden is Switzerland's most traditional and smallest-population canton (second smallest by area).
