The castle-like residence of Villa Wachtler was built in 1911 in Alpine Art Nouveau style, in Innichen/San Candido, in the valley of Alta Pusteria/Pustertal, in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (South Tyrol), Italy, Europe. Villa Wachtler is the residence of Michael Wachtler, who is founder of the town's Dolomythos Museum and is self-described as a "discoverer, philosopher of nature, author, and film director." Innichen is a gateway to the Sesto Dolomites (Dolomiti di Sesto / Sexten / Sextner / Sextener Dolomiten) mountains, part of the Southern Limestone Alps. UNESCO honored the Dolomites as a natural World Heritage Site in 2009.
