From Männlichen, look up Lauterbrunnen Valley to Lauterbrunnen Breithorn (3780 meters or 12,402 feet elevation) in the Berner Oberland, Switzerland, the Alps, Europe. The world's longest continuous rack and pinion railway (Wengernalpbahn) goes from Grindelwald up to Kleine Scheidegg and down to Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. A gondola (gondelbahn) connects Grindelwald with Männlichen, where a cable car goes down to Wengen (Luftseilbahn Wengen-Männlichen). The Bernese Highlands are the upper part of Bern Canton. UNESCO lists “Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch” as a World Heritage Area (2001, 2007).
