One of the most beautiful sights of Mt. Hood's Timberline Trail is Ramona Falls, a day hike near Portland, Oregon, USA. Three of us circumnavigated Mount Hood by backpacking the scenic Timberline Trail (42 miles with 9900 feet gain and loss). We began our clockwise 5-day hike at Timberline Lodge (a National Historic Landmark) and camped for four nights. The mountain is known as Wy'East by the Multnomah Tribe of the Columbia River valley. This prominent peak is 50 miles east-southeast of Portland, on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties.
