The Troll Wall is the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, about 1100 meters (3600 feet) from base to summit. Located within Reinheimen National Park, the Troll Wall (Trollveggen) and Trolltindane (Troll Peaks) soar high above the Romsdalen valley near Åndalsnes, Norway. The gneiss rock summit ridge overhangs its base by nearly 50 meters (160 ft). Parachute BASE jumping from Troll Wall has been illegal since 1986, but climbing the face is allowed, as is hiking up the gentler back. Trollveggen is in Rauma municipality, Møre og Romsdal county.
