This roof-seat break from around 1890 was used for tailgating at sporting events, with high seats serving as a grandstand at races and spectator events. This light break was an adaption of heavier vehicles used to break or train horses to harness. Shelburne Museum is one of the finest, most diverse, unconventional museums of American folk art.
