The scenic Vrata valley extends from Mojstrana village to the north face of Triglav, in Triglavski narodni park, Slovenia’s only national park. In 1991, Slovenia declared full sovereignty from Yugoslavia. 80% of its 2 million people speak Slovene. In 2004, Slovenia joined NATO and the EU (European Union), and later adopted the Euro € currency. Slovenia is the richest Slavic nation per capita.
