The Julian Alps (Slovene: Julijske Alpe, Italian: Alpi Giulie) stretch from north-eastern Italy to Slovenia in the Southern Limestone Alps. The namesake for the Julian Alps, Julius Caesar, founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli at their foot.
