The largest glacier in Nepal, Ngozumpa Glacier, flows down the valley floor covered in gray rocks. Its lateral moraine dams several lakes. To the left of Third Gokyo Lake is Gokyo village (15,583 feet / 4750 meters), a small cluster of teahouses for trekkers and climbers. Sagarmatha National Park was created in 1976 and honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Panorama stitched from 5 images.
